Wow – I feel like it has been forever since I have had a moment to just sit down and post. You all know that I lost my grandfather last week and since then things have been in a whirlwind. So basically two Sundays ago I woke up to horrible news, got on a plane, and went straight to the hospital. I was in his hospital room the entire day and thankfully my family decided to keep him on life support until I got there. I had so much peace in getting to hold his hand and tell him goodbye…as he took his last breaths it was just like watching him fall asleep and I knew that he would never be in any pain again. Then I went through three days of sitting with my family, wakes, and funerals and it was great to be able to support my family.

I wanted to let you all know that I have been unable to post this last week because I lost my grandfather last Sunday night. I have been at home with my family and really haven’t had much time to think, much less post. I am planning to get back to work on Monday but I wanted to let you all know that I haven’t abandoned the blog….I have just been taking some time to grieve. Thank you all for your understanding.

This post is for my “friend” who constantly tries to berate me into submission. I don’t like being dominated, especially by someone who acts like a juvenile ass 50% of the time. Your mind tricks don’t work anymore – just because you say I am a needy, insecure wife, doesn’t mean I am. Am the kind of wife that is going to go out and buy you a 12 pack because you ran out – hell no. Am I the kind of wife who is going to be the DD every weekend for you and your drunken buffoon friends – hell no. I believe that a marriage is a partnership. I believe that things should be equal and I don’t believe in catering to a man (unless he is sick or he did something really nice and deserves it but this is completely besides the point).

I don’t know about you guys but I am so sick of hearing about waterboarding and Nancy Pelosi. (Plus just because you’re the speaker of the house, doesn’t mean you have to wear boring ass pants suits everyday – look at the First Lady. I’m not sure if its collagen or bad lip liner but a lot of the time her lips look creepy. I am totally off subject here though.) Everyday we have to hear about how Pelosi has no idea about waterboarding, or knows something about waterboarding, etc. How can anyone believe anything that comes out of her mouth anymore? I personally think she knew about the technique being utilized and understood that it was a necessity at the time and now she is trying to back track big time. Does anyone really believe that the CIA lied to the House or misled them – I for one don’t.

Whew…I am finally feeling a bit better. It has been a rough couple of weeks – I will actually spare you all of the disgusting details…just trust me, it was BAD. I am glad to be back on track and I hope this week will be productive and healthy.

Usually, I am a stickler for traditional styles when it comes to dinnerware patterns and I most often gravitate towards the plane white china from Lenox or Wedgewood but I saw this chic designer and I fell in love. These plates could make a statement even in a stuffy, old-lady’s apartment.

Yesterday’s orientation was the biggest waste of government funds. The whole time I am sitting in this tiny room with 25 other people I am thinking 1. I hope no one in here has swine flu because if they do…we are all done for and 2. My tax dollars are used to support this? The state has the right to refuse my unemployment claim if I don’t show up for this class so of course I drove the hour to get there only to sign a piece of paper and get a few handouts detailing websites that I could go to, to look for work. Now this is absurd – this could have easily been mailed to everyone and saved all a trip. The class lasted a total of 45 minutes and the drive back and forth was two hours…..does anyone see the logic behind this?? The sad part is that most people were hoping to find a job yesterday and instead they were pointed in the direction of Career Builder and Monster. And the state is paying rent, utilities, and salaries to keep this center open – this should be budget cut #1. Hire someone to get handouts together and pay the postage to send it all out…boom I just saved 500,000 dollars a year at the least.
