I had an email from bebe in my inbox this morning and when I saw the title of jumpsuits I had to laugh. Imagine a size zero, 2002, Valentine’s Day. I had only been dating my now hubby for about 3 months and I wanted the perfect red outfit. I went to a million stores looking for the perfect red dress and ended up with a red jumpsuit. The neckline plunged down to my knees and the spandex hugged every toned part of my body. It was a little out of my norm and the look on hubby’s face said it all. He would have preferred that I kept that look in the bedroom not out on the town for a romantic dinner and in turn I was too embarrassed to take my coat off the rest of the night. I actually pulled that out of the closet when we moved and only then did I see how much it resembled a look that should have been on stage. But I must go back to the old adage…if you’ve got it, flaunt it. Now there is no way in hell that I would wear anything that revealing – the pouch of my stomach and 6 years of breast droopage make me a little more conservative in my choices!

The last sample came in today and now I actually have a big choice to make. I was all set to buy the Bobbi Brown perfume after the last two samples were so dismal. CB I Hate Perfume at the Beach came in today and it is such a clean, fresh scent. It does have the undertone of sunscreen mixed with something sweet I think it may be jasmine. This scent is more subtle than the Bobbi Brown but it doesn’t seem to last as long as the other. I am going to have to get down and dirty to pick…while I would love to buy both, I can’t really justify that with my current unemployed status.

I got another bubble mailer today and it was like getting a fantastic present. I love the fact that the The Perfumed Court is sending these samples separately because it gives me something to look forward to! So today’s scents were two more that received rave reviews from the Internet. Mind you these are all supposed to be scents that have undertones of sunscreen so I am a bit disappointed by the two I received today. It’s not that I don’t like these scents under normal circumstances but the aren’t quite what I am looking for.

I went to the spouse’s class last night and while I expected it to be nothing short of a root canal, it really didn’t turn out to be that bad. It was more of a communication class and a tool for couples to use when trying to discuss topics that sometimes cause tempers to flare. ( I actually thought of a friend and her husband who could have really benefited from that class.) Last night however, did remind me of how many extra obstacles that military families have to overcome in order to make their marriage work. There are the typical issues that every couple has; sex, kids, chores but then throw in deployments, moving every few years, unpredictable work schedules and it is easy to get overwhelmed. It’s even easier to feel resentful.
